Peach Press is a website devoted to chronicling the journey of one country mouse. Presently, the country mouse is living in Kyoto, Japan, the heart of traditional Japanese culture. While here, she hopes to learn about all of the great arts of cultural Japan, from kimono textiles to Bunraku, shadow puppets, and in turn, share it with those willing to listen.

Art Student Hand-Illuminates, Binds a Copy of Tolkien’s Silmarillion
German art student Benjamin Harff decided for his exam at the Academy of Arts to do something only slightly ambitious — to hand-illuminate and bind a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion. It took him six months of work. In very 21st century elvish-monk style, he hand-illuminated the text which had been printed on his home Canon inkjet printer. He worked with a binder to assemble the resulting book. (Source)
Sulamith Wulfing is an artist that my father, Big Hand, introduced me to. She is a German artist that lived from 1901-1989, and starting from the age of 4, began having visions of supernatural beings, which continued all the way into adulthood, and directly influenced her work. Her art has been used to illustrate many famous fairy tales, particularly out of Scandinavia. She has influenced many other artists as well, including a modern doll maker (though I personally find the dolls to be too sexualized, and devoid of any ‘life’ in their expressions. It really is quite creepy).
My father introduced me to her art to help inspire me with my own work, and since then I have been trying to find books and prints of her work, along the way stumbling upon many other great artists, like Edmund Dulac, Kay Nielsen,
